McLaren has set a new benchmark for supercars with the introduction of the 750S. This rear-wheel-drive sports car with V8 engine is McLaren’s lightest and most powerful car. Offering sensational performance and exhilarating handling, the 750S is available as a coupé and spider.
Renewal and innovation
The new 750S is based on its predecessor the 720S. About 30% of the parts are new or modified for improvements and for an even greater emotional connection to the car. Michael Leiters, CEO of McLaren Automotive, stresses the importance of these improvements: “When you have a car that so many people consider to be the benchmark, in order to make something that is even better, you really have to scrutinise every detail and work extremely hard to make improvements that raise the bar again. That’s what we’ve done with the new 750S.”
Produced with precision
The powerful twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine produces 750 hp and 800 Nm. This performance results in amazing acceleration: the 750S accelerates 0-100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. Owners who want to take their 750S just a little further on the track can opt for an optional brake upgrade, designed as a combination of ceramic discs and monoblock calipers derived from McLaren Senna system with new exciter and vacuum pump, plus Formula 1-integrated caliper cooling technology.
The 750S’s lightest dry weight is just 1,277 kilograms. That makes for an industry-leading power-to-weight ratio of 587 hp per tonne. Designed with the same focus on minimising weight, the 750S Spider features a collapsible hardtop, a roll safety system and a special carbon fibre superstructure at the rear of the monocoque.
