Production of the Plus Six, Morgan’s current flagship car, will end in early 2025. To commemorate the Plus Six’s more than five-year success story, a special edition, built in a limited edition of just 30 units, will be unveiled: the Plus Six Pinnacle. This version is the last ‘high-powered’ sports car Morgan builds with the classic lines, marking the end of a generation after more than 50 years – starting with the Plus 8.
The Plus Six Pinnacle showcases the ‘bespoke’ capabilities Morgan has to offer, with a special compilation of six exclusive ‘special options’ ordered by customers during the production cycle of the Plus Six. Morgan will launch its all-new flagship in 2025.
Always ‘Bespoke’
Each Plus Six Pinnacle comes with one of three different interior packs, composed around three new leather options: Fawn, Explore and Riviera. These options have been developed by Morgan in collaboration with Bridge of Weir. Fawn is a light shade of brown, Explore is dark brown with a pebbled texture and Riviera is light blue. To complement the exterior, all three leather options have been kept as neutral as possible. The Plus Six Pinnacle is available in any paint colour at no extra cost, including special colour requests.
In the ongoing search for new materials, the Plus Six Pinnacle comes with natural wool carpet to complement the interior leather options. Because the soft, thick and inviting carpet is also laid in the footwell and against the rear bulkhead, the interior is perceived as extra luxurious. Each carpet colours perfectly with the three leather options; with the supple leather, the high-pile carpet offers a great contrast in texture.
Morgan offers a wide variety of stitching patterns for the seats for its model ranges. The current pleated and quilt options are proving very popular. For the Plus Six Pinnacle, Morgan’s design team worked closely with the professionals at the Trim Shop, designing a unique stitching pattern that combines pleating and quilting. The directional changes and unique convergence pattern require manual stitching and tying. On the seat backs, the pattern progresses vertically upwards, changing direction crosswise around the Pinnacle logo. In the Plus models, a logo was not embroidered on the back of the seats before.
With the Plus Six Pinnacle, Morgan continues its exploration of the uses of teak. This material was first used to frame the cockpit in the special limited-edition Midsummer. In every Plus Six Pinnacle, the centre console is finished with teak veneer, while the dashboard is framed in solid teak at the bottom. Using Japanese woodcut art as inspiration, an aluminium Pinnacle logo has been inlaid into the veneer of the centre console.
On every Plus Six Pinnacle, the wheels, grille bars and dashboard are finished in silky silver. This colour is associated with champagne and triumph, but is softer in tone so as not to overpower the chosen exterior colour. The Plus Six Pinnacle also features a polished tank cap with Le Mans-style quick-release closure. The tank cap finish is in line with the new interior and exterior mirrors, as well as the heart of the steering wheel. This steering wheel was not previously used in the Plus Six, but shows that Morgan is constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of its models.
