McLaren Senna

Absolute performance.

MCLAREN AT ITS MOST EXTREME

How do you honour one of the most legendary Formula 1 drivers? With the McLaren Senna, the brand makes the impossible possible. It is the most track-focused car McLaren has ever built. Unashamedly uncompromising and also legalised for road use. No different from giving the most intense driving experience on the track. Inspired by one of the best McLaren drivers, fully dedicated to making the driver the best he can be.

THE BEATING HEART OF THE SENNA

With the introduction of the Senna, McLaren also immediately ‘brought to market’ the most powerful engine on the road up to that time. The engine provided a stunning power-to-weight ratio of 668 hp per tonne. And with the performance, McLaren tries to give the driver the same feeling that Ayrton Senna experienced with his race cars. The roof-mounted ‘snorkel’ feeds air directly, providing instant torque response.

UNTHINKABLE SOLUTIONS

To ensure that you are constantly in control of the mighty Senna, you need a car that actively communicates all its intentions. And that’s why the Senna used the revolutionary suspension technology developed for the McLaren P1™. This allowed McLaren to create the new RaceActive Chassis Control II. This hydraulic suspension offers uncompromising performance and features a race mode, which reduces ride height, lowers the centre of gravity and increases the power of aerodynamics. All to bring your experience as close to the road and track as possible.

McLaren Senna

‘The fastest track-focused road hypercar we have ever built’ – McLaren shows with the Senna what they are capable of. A car legalised for road use, but not modified to meet it. Nothing else matters but delivering the most intense driving experience on the track.

“You commit yourself to such a level where there is no compromise. You give everything you have; everything, absolutely everything.”
Ayrton Senna

FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION

What do you think of when you think of a circuitous interior? Right, as few distractions as possible. And from the Senna’s cockpit, the car’s extreme engineering is clear to see. The three-spoke steering wheel is free of buttons and switches, and the door release mechanisms and window switch have been moved to a roof-mounted console. The Senna’s interior is unabashedly and ‘anti-socially’ driver-focused.

Rear wing

Groundbreaking work on active aerodynamics has been crucial in realising the connection between the driver and the sheer power offered by the McLaren Senna. The active front air guides and active rear wing contribute significantly to the overall downforce, but are also essential to negate any adverse effects; the former ‘relieves’ excessive downforce to maintain optimum aerodynamic performance, while the rear wing moves under heavy braking conditions to increase stability and make it easier to position the McLaren Senna on corner entry.

Exhaust

The unique Inconel and titanium exhaust is a crucial part of the powerful powertrain. The exhaust system, designed to reduce weight, has an active system with three exhausts offers a quieter mode at lower revs and immersive sound at higher revs and loads on the track.

Monocage III

The carbon structure at the core of the McLaren Senna, Monocage III, perfectly complements the aerodynamics and powertrain. As the strongest monocoque McLaren has ever built for a road-legal vehicle, Monocage III combines with an all-carbon body and uncompromising lightweight engineering to make the McLaren Senna the lightest McLaren since the iconic F1.

Design

The McLaren Senna is designed for unprecedented aerodynamic performance. Its aggressive design language reflects the uncompromising nature of this supercar, which is focused on achieving ultimate track performance. With an aerodynamic design that prioritises absolute aerodynamic performance over visual appeal, the McLaren Senna is a symbol of purity in form and function.

Interior

From the cockpit of the McLaren Senna, the emphasis on track performance is evident. Carbon fibre and Alcantara® are the lightweight materials of choice used extensively in the McLaren Senna’s interior, reflecting the stripped-down, functional nature of the cockpit.

ENHANCE YOUR DRIVING EXPERIENCE

Alcantara covers the side airbags, but the rest of the interior trim has been removed. This saves even more weight. All for even better performance.
