START LIGHT, GET LIGHTER

The Artura Spider weighs only 62 kilograms more than the coupé version. With this impressive statistic for a spider, it weighs significantly less than its direct competitors. The Spider’s extra kilograms come from its complicated roof construction. The new feature incorporated in the roof, the electrochromic glass can darken at the touch of a button. However, in good weather, the roof can be easily opened in just 11 seconds.

High-speed restart

The new Artura Spider uses the electric drive for even greater driving comfort. A great example is the new High Speed Restart technology, which automatically activates in E-mode at speeds above 120 km/h. Whereas at these speeds the petrol engine would normally activate, this system allows you to drive for longer in E-mode, while preserving the original battery charge. Because the electric motor is placed inside the clutch housing, gear changes in E-mode are now 25% faster.

Driving modes

The Artura Spider has four powertrain driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Track and the emission-free E-mode in which only electric driving is used. Comfort mode combines electric and hybrid propulsion for prolonged driving with stopping and acceleration the Sport and Track modes use the electric motor in an increasingly aggressive manner for low-speed response and acceleration. Track mode delivers the highest charging rate from the electric motor.

Bowers & Wilkins sound

The Artura Spider comes standard with a five-speaker audio system . Customers can opt for the acclaimed Bowers & Wilkins surround sound audio system with 12 speakers, available exclusively with the Technology Pack. This system features Bowers & Wilkins Continuum™ speakers for accurate reproduction of interior voices and instruments.

Exterior

The technical art under the Artura’s skin is complemented by its exterior design. The low nose, forward-facing cabin and high rear create the true supercar look. The wing doors complement this image.

Wheels

Ultralight alloy wheels help to get the weight even lower. Available in 5-spoke, 7-spoke or 10-spoke. Of course, with a range of stunning finishes from Silver to Titanium Liquid Metal and Gloss Black.

Headlights

The full LED headlights each feature 21 LEDs, of which four provide the high beams, five provide the low beams, and the remaining 12 are used for McLaren’s Static Adaptive functionality. This system moves the low beam depending on the steering input.

COMPLETE DRIVER FOCUS

The luxurious interior of the new Artura Spider has a high ‘tech’ content, but offers maximum comfort and cosiness for the driver. The steering wheel is traditionally free of buttons and controls and completely focused on focus, control and an ergonomic driving experience. The driver display, which moves with the steering column when adjusted, also contains the controls to select Handling and Powertrain modes, allowing switching between electric and hybrid drive without taking the hands off the wheel.
