The MC20 is an extremely light car at less than 1,500 kilograms. Combined with the power, this makes the MC20 the best in its class in terms of weight/power. The MC20 features a completely new engine; the Nettuno. This engine is protected by international patents and has been built by a team of highly qualified technicians and engineers. It is derived from Formula 1 technology. The 3.0-litre 6-cylinder twin-turbo has a V90° architecture and features a dry-sump system. The engine produces 630 hp at 7,500 rpm and 730 Nm of torque from 3,000 rpm with a specific power output of 210 hp/litre.
For the first time, a Maserati possesses a carbon fibre monocoque. Due to the MC20’s lightweight body, this ensures a perfect power-to-weight ratio. The result is breathtaking acceleration and top speed. The monocoque is designed for the three types of the MC20 that will appear in the coming years; the coupé, the convertible and the future electric version. The focus of the monocoque for the coupé is on low weight and performance.
